A manifest is a list of the cargo, passengers, carried by a ship or airplane made for the use of various agents and officials at the ports of destination; a list or invoice of goods transported by truck or train Latin manifestus (adjective - clear, evident, open), manifestāre (verb) > Middle French manifester into Middle English as manifesten, 1350-1400.
