by District Railway to Southend

A District Railway poster, apparently from 1915. Eastbound services of the District Railway ran as far as the seaside town of Southend-on-Sea in Essex from 1 June 1910 and to Shoeburyness (40 miles/64 km from London Fenchurch St) the next year, until 30 September 1939, now the major part of the London, Tilbury and Southend railway.
