Crochat 600 mm gauge railcar, 1922

It looks like a garden shed on rails: one of two examples built by the firm Crochat (which was in business 1899-1928) in 1922, this petrol-electric (or as they say in America - gas-electric) railcar was used on the 30.6 km Tramway de Pithiviers à Toury, which operated from 1893 to 1964.  After its closure the L'association du musée des transports de Pithiviers (AMTP) created a transport museum, initially using a 3.2 km (2 mile) section between Pithiviers and les Ormes, later extended to the Bois de Bellébat.  The other example of this railcar was ordered by the Tramways départementaux de la Savoie.
