West German class 141 electric locomotive

This class, of which 451 were built between 1956 and 1971, was designed for local traffic and branch lines. Originally designated class E41, in the 1968 renumbering it was redesignated class 141. It had the nickname of Knallfrosch (firecracker), as it was said to make loud cracking noises when accelerating. All have been withdrawn; it's not clear if any are preserved.

Weight: 67 tonnes
Output: stated as 2,400 kW (3,200 hp)
